MEDICARE VOTE TODAY GET CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN

MEDICARE VOTE TODAY

Today,Tuesday, June 24, the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on H.R. 6331, The House Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act.  HR.6331, will give doctors a modest pay increase instead of the drastic 10.6 percent Medicare pay cut that will take effect July 1st, if Congress does not act. A pay cut would make more doctors reluctant to take on new Medicare patients and make it harder for older adults and people with disabilities to get the care they need.The bill makes long overdue improvements to Medicare by additional provisions for pharmacies, community health centers, ambulances, e-prescribing, rural providers, social workers and others. The bill will help more seniors qualify for help paying Medicare premiums by fixing the current personal assets test. In addition, the bill also makes improvements to Medicare’s preventive benefits such as eliminating several co-payments as well as bringing mental health parity to Medicare benefits.H.R. 6331 is scheduled to be considered by the House under a fast track procedure that will require a two-thirds vote to pass.  Therefore, every vote counts.  Please contact your member of Congress, urge him or her to vote for HR.6331. Call 1-866-622-2184 to connect toll-free to the Capitol Switchboard. Ask for your Representative by name, tell them you live in their district and you want them to cast a vote for HR.6331. Or email them with a simple message;

Dear [ Your Representatives name ],

As your constituent, I urge you to vote for H.R. 6331. This bill will make enhancements to Medicare that beneficiaries need now. The legislation eliminates the physician cuts. Improves the Medicare assets test, which means more Medicare beneficiaries will have help paying premiums and co-payments. In addition, the bill improves Medicare preventive services, which in the long run will prevent disease, keep beneficiaries healthier longer, and lower costs.

Sincerely,
[Your name]
